I'm no longer buried in Dahveed!

Well, Labor Day is over, and I'm emerging from the BC era!  Editing on Dahveed 4 is going along well.  I've got mechanical corrections, and am now working on story structure critique.

The hummingbirds still use the feeder.  I've got two of them who come, and they chase each other a lot.  The yellow jackets have found the feeder also.  Have you ever seen a duel between ad yellow jacket and a hummingbird?  It's quite amusing!

School has started, and I'm heading into plotting mode.  Spread the news that Ruth and Boaz is available as an e-book now!  No cover for that yet.  I'm working on it.  I've got the art work, now I just need to get the text on it . . .

  1. Just wanted to commend you for pressing on with the Dahveed series in spite of the nay-sayers. I think there's a real need to see Biblical characters as fully-rounded people, warts and all, instead of one-dimensional stained glass saints.

By the way, I'm also a hummingbird enthusiast and will miss them when they head south.

  2. Hi:
I've read all your books except the latest, Dahveed 3, and I had one question. What's with his name, Dahveed? I know it's similar to David but I wondered why it's used at all. Thanks,

  3. Hi Rachel,

Dahveed is the English spelling of the Hebrew pronounciation. That's why I used it!

  5. I can't tell you how excited I am to read Dahveed 4. Thank you thank you thank you for pressing on. God has truly blessed you and I personally know about a dozen people that have been positively impacted by your books. My 6 month old's middle name is Dahveed, and we call him "Dahvee" (although I normally spell it Davi when I write it out)

  8. Our entire family has been profoundly impacted by your books Terri. I can't say that I have a favorite as it depends on what mood I am in and we have read each of them multiple times. It is great to look at Bible stories through a window of cultural understanding that is beyond anything I have ever experienced in history classes.

Thanks so much and keep on going as we are all waiting very impatiently for the next in the series.

  9. Jack,

When I started writing, I had no idea how much the cultural understanding would change things. That's what seems to make the stories come alive for people. I'm glad it did for you! Enjoy. I'm still hoping to get Dahveed 4 out in late fall.
