Well, the last half of the book is fine. But the first half still isn't! So, I've more work to do. Over 141,000 words have been cut so far, and the story is MUCH better. I think once I get this last story line fixed, Dahveed 5 will be ready for final editing and publication! Thanks for your patience and prayers. They matter.
Terri.

Additional news about Dahveed 5
My apologies to everyone, but Dahveed 5 will not be out for
Christmas. I still have two more story lines to re-edit, and then the
ms must go to advance readers and final editor.
The process has taken much longer than I anticipated, but I do feel the book will be much better because of it. I will get the book out in e-format and print as soon as I possibly can. I'm hoping the holidays won't interfere too much . . .
Thank you all for your patience and continued prayers.

More News about Dahveed 5
Well, the complete plot overhaul is finally done. It was well worth
the time, since over 55,000 words have been cut from the manuscript!
However, the re-plot took twice as long as I imagined it would, and I
now have to go over each scene and edit the details. All of this is a
prelude to breaking the news that the book may not be ready for print by
Christmas 2013. It is still possible, and I will do my best, but I'm
not making any promises at this point!
The plot has been streamlined, and, taking my cue from one advance reader to "simplify, simplify, simplify," I have done my best to make the story much more straightforward. I believe the result is a much better book. After I get the editing done, we'll have to see what the advance readers think now.
As always, your prayers are appreciated!

More News on Dahveed 5
After reviewing all the critiques of Dahveed 5 from advance readers, I came to the conclusion that since they all said the same thing, I'd better listen! The book as it stands now is too long, and too confusing, so it's going back to the drawing board. There's a story there somewhere, I just need to find it!
But that will begin after I get back from a book talk in Minnesota, in a town called Excelsior!

Dahveed 6 update
Final research is done! Now, after a quick adjustment to a story line in Dahveed 5, I get to start reading in Hebrew the chapters in Samuel which are covered in the final book. That will take a bit, since I have to stop frequently to look up words . . . but that always highlights things that can lead to good story lines, so it's a lot of fun. So, I am taking a very deep breath, and plunging into the final book of the series!

Dahveed 5: Progress
Well, it took a lot longer to edit the manuscript than I anticipated, but the biggest part of the job is done! Next, it must go to advance readers, the copy editors, and then get one more editing job from me. I'm still on schedule to release the book late fall/Christmas 2013. Thanks for all the encouragement and prayers!
Dahveed 6 is scheduled to be written this summer---which means I'm finishing up on last-minute research now, and will start writing by June.

Dahveed 5 is done!
I'm taking a break to let everyone know that I'm done composing Dahveed 5! It took a month longer than I expected it would, but I have the story outside of my head. It's huge 339,300 words, so I have a tremendous editing job ahead of me, but the hardest work is done. Yes!
